Social Protection Facility
May 2001 to June 2004
The Social Protection Facility (SPF) was a three-year project funded
by the Australian Agency for International Development, AusAID.
It commenced in May 2001 and finished 30 June 2004.
The SPF was managed jointly by the Australian National University, Canberra,
as the Australian Managing Contractor and the Institute for Population
and Social Research, Mahidol University, Bangkok.
The 39 activities delivered to 395 participants aimed to improve capacity
amongst individuals and agencies responsible for social
protection policy and programs in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Philippines,
Thailand and Vietnam). The SPF ran customised, responsive capacity building
programs designed to facilitate an exchange of experience and expertise
across the region.
A brief summary of the activities and workshops is available at Summary
of SPF Activities May 2001 to June 2004.
